    printing from mac through XP

hi I'm trying to print through my network on my mac

I've found the printer and added it in the printer setup thing, but as soon as i try to print to that printer i get this error

    NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DE

    and then something about SAMBDA

its a USB printer epson photo 830U connected to a shuttle SN45G, and I'm trying to print from an iBook G4 (through cat5e and a switch)

to anyone who can sort me out

make sure the XP machine has "File and Print Sharing" switched on in the network connection properties

make sure any firewall on the XP machine is allowing windows networking traffic

    that should do it!

I have to say, I have been having the same problem with printing to my Dad's XP box. What version of XP do you have? I was told it was something for which you needed to upgrade to Pro for, as the Printer sharing in Home is properly done, but I don'y really know.

I'm not having any problems printing to my XP box. SP1, so it's possible that SP2 broke the mac network printing thingibybober... It certainly broke a lot of other things, iirc (moot point if you're on SP1 ).

There's an option in XP relating to the printer you are sharing being accessed by clients other than Windows XP. Have a look and see what it does.
