    Arrgh!

I went to use my ibook this morning, opened it up to find the screen is cracked!

I've noticed that the top edge of the screen has been lighter for a while now, and just assumed that it was from where the casing was putting pressure on the lcd panel, but I wouldn't have thought it would cause this!

My iBook is only a couple of months old, will Apple replace it, or am I going to have to go through my house insurance?

Rang up apple, and they said it should be okay, and to take it to my local Apple Service Centre, which will have to wait until the weekend..

Hmm, I've just spoken to the Apple place in Norwich, he says not to bother bringing it in with the hope of Apple repairing it..

Apparently anything with a cracked panel they reject as "impact damage" and void the warranty, and there's not a lot you can do about it.

According to them the best course of action is to go through the home insurance and say it was dropped, otherwise it'd end up costing nearly as much in repair fees as a new laptop..

    Bah!
