About LinkBacksgot a G3 which is having issues outputting text with accents, for example chars like áéíóú and umlauts etc... chars are often blank or replaced with strange symbols.
we upgraded the hardware and still the same, any suggestions?

I'd suggest its a software issue, not a hardware issue.
Try reinstalling the Font packs? or upgrade the OS?
It just sounds like the fonts have been deleted or have messed up somehow. As CocoPops said, reinstall the font packs from the install DVD/CD
