    speakers & ipods

Thinking of getting some sort of speaker set up for my ipod. I’m not sure if I want one with a docking station as technology may change and they become redundant in the future, basically In my front room I don’t have any music so I want to little rig to use my ipod through… shall I just buy a creative 4.1 system and use it through that?

Whatever you do, use the dock line-out connector of the iPod rather than the headphone jack. I can recommend the JBL Creature 2 speakers as a decent set. If you fancy spending more then look at some of the Klipsch systems.

You want a stereo or 2.1 system as an iPod won't use the extra channels a 4.1 or 5.1 system will give.

I'd recommend JBL or Klipsh over Creative ... how much did you have in mind of spending?

Line out is better for plugging into speakers / amp than the headphone jack, yes.
