    Unhappy Sad, Sad note

Hi all, a sad note for today...
I think my CD drive has died on my PPC mac mini, putting CDs in causes it to crash.
Have tried using the hardware test, but a fat lot of use that was as the test runs from a CD?!
Very dissapointed as its only 6 months old, What can I Do????
    HELP

    put the CD in... reboot
then when it's booting up hold the C key (iirc) and boot from the CD and run the checks.

Is it an OSX kernel panic crash? May be worth trying a complete erase and reinstall.

did you buy applecare? either way you should get 90days telephone support and 1year parts+labour (or if you bought it though the HE store 3 years parts+labour), so give apple a ring and see what they say If you have a store or authorised repair centre near you just take it there instead, take advantage of your warranty and get the drive replaced or the unit tested.
