iTunes imports songs in a random order?

I posted this a while ago but nobody knew the answer so here goes again.

When I import a CD into iTunes it imports the tracks in a random order not the order they appear on the CD.This can be a pain on something like a musical when the order matters.

Any ideas?

This happens to me sometimes when I import a whole Album into iTunes.

To avoid this you could right click on the music file, (while in windows) go to properties, click on the summary tab. And then click on the button on the bottom right saying advanced>>

This should now give you more detailed information with regards to the music file/track. Make sure the Track Number field is filled in. If not, I assume iTunes puts the tracks in alphabetical order.

If on the other hand you have already imported the tracks into iTunes. By right clicking the track, (within iTunes) selecting on get info, under one of the tabs you should have more or less the same details as given before. Here you can change or input the track number.
