    Mac OS X - change Samba Domain

    Hi,

    My mac mini appears to use an ldap style domain model in that hostname.local

    My mac is called apple - so it appears to be checking apple.local

    I want to change my samba domain so that it can particiapte with other machines in the same samba work group.

    Could someone walk me through changing the samba domain on Mac OS.

    I'm happy to just hack the config file but I'd rather know the correct way.
    It is Inevitable.....

    Go to Applications->Utilities

    Start up Directory Access there

    You'll want to unlock it to use it; click on the padlock.

    Now select SMB/CIFS and click Configure

    You can now set work group and WINS server if needs be.
