    iPOD

I've an IPOD 5th Gen Video thing - and I have it setup with my workstation, anyway - i'm on the road at the moment and I want to put a couple of movie files on it - what software can I do it with without having to wipe it like iTunes seems to want me to do

Welcome to the wonders of Apple iPod and the copy protection.

I don't know of any way around it. You can get stuff off an iPod with an app like Senuti, but as for putting something on it, I've never found anything that will do that.

Anapod Explorer works for what you want to do, but I believe for larger files you have to register the software - and yes - thats costs £££.

The message that appears just refers to the fact that iTunes is currently set up for auto syncing, so will remove whatevers on there. If you ignore the message / tell it not to sync, then tick the box for manual management in iTunes, you will be able to drag the movie files off the library on the PC to the iPod.
