    Mac Pro Hard drive

Hi all. I'm relatively new to Macs and would like some help in buying a new hard drive. I'm particularly keen on a samsung spinpoint 400 gig with 16 mb buffer. Will this one fit?:

I've seen some hard drives advertised as Mac compatible which are more expensive. Is that just a marketing thing?
    Cheers,
    Beninio.

I would imagine you can use any SATA hard-drive, as OSX will just format it to its own file system. That one should be fine (although I have heard that while being the quietest, the Samsungs are also a bit slower than the rest).

Think the MacPros have Seagate drives if that matters; my friend's one does in any case. Quite odd, because two of my housemates have iMacs: one has a Western Digital drive, one has a Maxtor. Would have thought Apple would stick with one (or maybe two) companies.
