    Looking for an old banger

    Well not exactly lol

What I am looking for is something cheap that I can work on and have some fun with at the track. It doesn't have to be quick as long as it's fun and of course most of the fun is in learning how to fix it up

Not sure of budget yet but if I see something I like that's worth it, I'm sure I can find the money somewhere

Does anyone know of anywhere online I can have a look for something like that?

I'd recomend an XR2i, go for the 16v 1.8l and you've got a real pocket rocket with tons of potential for tuning, and they are dirt cheap second hand.

Ebay and autotrader are your friends and maybe your local salvage yards will have some repariables in.

Hmm, not too sure about them. It's one to think about though.

    Anyone else?

That will be a 1.6 CVH, the best are the 1.8's with a zetec

Bah - you want a MK2 XR2, not the big fat lump with a zetec fiasco in it.

E30 325i. Cheap as chips, but they rust easily.

Problem with doing them for track work, is anything intended to attach to a BMW appears to cost at least 50% more.
