    Hexus car history

What's your car history? Try listing all the cars that you had in order and write any comments under the list. Also what was the most notable car that you drove?

    My history goes like this:

    1. Peugeout 106 1.1
    2. Honda Prelude 2.2

Had the Pug for 4 years to earn the no claims, then got the prelude. Pug is still in the family and driving it now feels a lot different after the prelude

Most notable car would be a Ferrari 328 - only got to drive it round the car park but I was 17, without insurance or license and I was under strict instructions not to stall it - it was awesome Was shown what it can do on the road by the driver too.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.

Also driven a V70 D5 which was surprisingly quick, and if we're going into the single coolest car I've been in, its gotta be an F40 when I was 9, that was awesome

I've driven a fair few - Lambo's, Ferrari's, Porsche's - I think the Diablo SV is the *most over the top I've driven - I didn't like the Ferrari 328 - just too much work.

I'm a bit of a fan of the Evo's - have been for several years done a couple of track days with them.

Shame i ain't passed my test yet This summer i will do it .

Best car ever was a Bentley Continental GT. When i was working in John Lewis, a customer needed help getting his new Tv to his car and i offered to help. He saw me dribbling over his car as i carefully loaded this 42" screen in the back so offered to show me all the bits. mmmmmm

    1. SEAT Ibiza (Instructors car, also my current car now lol)
    2. Rover 214 - Mine
    3. Rover 216 - Borrowed
    4. Toyota Corrola - Mine
    5. Rover 416- Borrowed

The most memorable would have to be a Van Diemen RF82. I was ill the last chance I had to take it round Goodwood but I did get to drive it round the paddock at Brands

Nice thread, some very notable cars up there so far!!

    1) 1993 Renault Clio 1.4 RT
    2) 2002 Alfa 147 1.6 Lusso
    3) 1990 Honda CRX 1.6-16v
    4) 1997 Volvo 850 CD 2.5 Estate / Honda CRX race car

By far and away the best car I've owned is the CRX, although every other car had its own unique qualities.

The best car I've driven is probably an Integra DC5 race car, closely followed by my race car. Road cars are just so.... boring

Soon to be replaced (hopefully, have to see what bonus is like) by '94 MR2 GT

Nicest car ive ever driven was an M6 belonging to my boss at work, who was far to trolleyed to take it home and didnt want to leave it outside the pub all night.

Most fun would be hooning round croft in Ginetta G20, who new a 1.8 zetec could sound so sexy, and indeed go like that (190 bhp.ton ftw)

    1) 1993 Renault Clio 1.4 RT
    2) 2003 Renault Clio 1.4 16v Dynamique
    3) 2004 Skoda Octavia vRS

I had the RT for a year as my first car. Awesome car, was totally bullet proof! Unfortunately however, it was written off recently as some chav scum broke in and damaged the steering lock, obviously trying to nick it. It didn't put a foot wrong for its new owner either.

Had the Dynamique for 2.5 years from new, and was a good solid car, never had any of this "French cars are unreliable" problems at all. Good car.

Best car I've owned so far is definitely the Skoda. "Practical and exciting" as the advert goes.

My most memorable experience would have to be driving my cousin's Mk2 VW Golf GTI. I was about 13 at the time, so I was well chuffed! More recently, the most notable car I have ever driven is a C55 AMG Merc. Wooaah, fast! And the most fun was probably a Clio 182 Trophy.

    1) 2004 Ford Focus 1.6 (Learner car) – Nice car.
    2) 1986 Nissan Micra 1.0 Colette (Mammas car) - Short spell until I found myself a car, actually great fun to drive.
    3) 1998 VW Polo CL 1.4 (First/Present car) – 0-60 in 15s BOOYAH, suppose I should be grateful that it gets there.

    Notable drives:

    1) Lamborghini Murcielago - …wow, just…WOW.
    2) Porsche 911 Turbo (996) - Very fast but also elegant, a joy to drive.
    3) Ferrari F355 Challenge - Scared the s**t out of me. Like the Prodrive Subaru I’m just not used to manly cars, I like power assisted electrical thingies.
    4) Prodrive Subaru Impreza - Taught me the meaning of the word Turbo. Was race spec so I had to jump on the brakes to get any response…then it all came at once which was not good for my nerves.

The Porsche is the only notable car that didn’t scare me; it was a very nice car to drive although effortlessly quick. I managed 145MPH in the Lambo and ~120MPH in the rest.

    1) 2001 Fiat Seicento 1.1 Sporting
    2) 2003 Honda Jazz 1.4i-DSI SE Sport

I notice people are listing cars they've never actually owned - e.g. instructor cars or parents' cars. Not entirely sure why, but never mind. I'm sure I could have a play in my dad's Avensis or the in-law's RX-8 if it was worth the effort.

Of those two, the Seicento was really dreadful for just about everything (extremely expensive to insure, struggled above 65MPH, uncomfortable, cost a bomb to keep on the road). I suppose that's sort of notable, right?

The Jazz is, well, a Jazz. It's not meant to be an exciting car - it's supposed to be the new car for over-60s men now that Honda have chaved up the new design Civic. It's easy to park, uninteresting to drive, doesn't have any "exciting" engineering issues that mean trips to the garage other than for services, fits whatever you need to fit into the back, and gets me 220 miles urban on 20 quid of petrol.
