small wheels= ugly, espec when its so high, could do with being lowered a touch from factory

But saying that they got the handling right imo so its all relative i just prefer the look of a slightly lower car

Your comments aren't "bad". I quantified my "gay" comment earlier as it was only meant tounge in cheek - but as people took it seriously I quantified them. I think it may help to have another glance at my reasons as you seem to have got the impressions I said all where bad, all where crap etc etc.

I'll summerise my earlier comment and address how you've perhaps missread them.

1.) I have driven a few MX5's - on a professional basis so I'm passing on my comments based on the few I've driven.
2.) I stand by what I said. Value for money they are excellent.
I didn't say they handled "bad" I said they didn't handle like what I'd expect - and that comment was only made about the older models the new ones are much better.
3.) the import ones I've seen have been in much poorer condition than the UK ones - but that doesn't mean thats the case with all.
4.) There is the stigma of the hair dressers car, and thats one of the reasons I wouldn't buy one due to their perception, however that said I'd have no problems with the stigma of a Skoda, so its hourses for courses. It all down to what you want it for and how comfortable you are with "what do you drive" "mx5" "hairdressers gay car" - or "what do you drive" "Skoda" "pov boy hunk of crap" etc etc.
    It is Inevitable.....

Well if they say its gay - give them a lift round some twisty roads... Then suggest they try the same in a 307cc... Tbh some people will think it looks nice, some will think its great because they are a hairdresser and some will give you a knowing smile because they know what it is. As for those who think its gay - do you care what they think?

well people use it against me when they want to have a go... but lets be honest, the fact that I own one and can say that because its a "girly car" you do find nice girls walking up to you and saying "oww thats nice" or when its me saying "who wants a lift" loads of people jump at the chance. One of my other friends has a Fiesta and I can honestly say that people do not like to have to go in that and not with me.

the point is that when its time for a few of us to go on a road trip I get the pick of ladies to drive up with me. Now that is why I really love this car.

    beat that

oh and ikonia, i didn't think you where anything but joking by the way, but, its easy to see why some people may get a bit upset.

If you had a girlfriend you wouldnt have to make the choice

If you had a normal car you could fit 4 girls in it (without having to get a people carrier)?

If it rains you arent stuck with wet girls in your car and a stunning urge to produce a funny innuendo?

Well if I could get super model friends I am sure I could get six in the mx5, there are loads of little cubby holes!

Nice to see you here mate, glad we have put all our troubles behind us.

lol I wouldnt want to look, im happy as it is. As told by a Mushkin employee
"dude, i hope your hitting that!"

I would be very happy for her to ride shotgun and have 3 cute girls in the back lol

Now all I need to do is persuade the GF to try dogging.....then to go to an empty car park with 3 other girls in the back

ON topic.....I do like the old Mx5's, mind the new ones dont seem very different to me

I wanted one, but due to my age and space it was a bit impractical. The Mk1's are the best to get to be honest
Go have a look at an mx5 forum loads of info there

I will be getting one in a few years
