Honda VTEC owners unite! I've bought one, and I want it now

I suppose I'd better give this thread some purpose. The car is a 2.0L but insurance sees it as 1850cc (1.8) when using it's reg. number. Should I mention this when I ring them up and transfer my policy?

Also can Admiral sort of keep my current car on the policy for, say, a week after I ring up and swap it to the new car and pay the extra etc? As I need to drive to work but can't drive the Honda until it's taxed (and that needs insurance cover notes... grr too much paperwork!)

Accord 2.0 I believe And yes, it is worth telling them, as it likely won't make any difference to the price, and that way, they can't weasel out of a claim (should you have to).

Yeah I know how much extra it's going to cost with the 2L anyway, so I'll just explain to them when I ring.. hope I don't get to speak to some barely comprehensible call centre

Defo tell them mate, as Matt said not worth the risk to your new pride and joy, or to another party if a claim was declined. Any aftermarket mods really do need to be declared even alloy wheels, believe it or not.

Could you not just insure the new car on a new policy and then cancel the old on in a week? They tend to charge stupid amounts for temporary policy changes. Elephant wanted £60 to insure my father in law on my car for a week but only £40 to insure him for the remaining 10 months of the policy. I couldn't quite work their logic out either......

Sorted the insurance this morning They knew it was "1997cc" as opposed to 1850cc as it said on the website... Bizarre. Only £146 extra on my existing policy over my Megane which isn't too shabby

Hoping to collect it monday or tuesday evening, and hoping the insurance cover note will arrive on Tuesday so I can tax the beast

Just rang up to get the engine size changed, as my policy docs came through today but they obviously didn't listen when I mentioned it the first time round .

It's costing me £146 extra on top of my current policy that ends in November (20 yrs old, 2.5 years experience, 1 yrs no claims) and it's gonna be about £880 to renew in November

It's being MOTd today so am collecting it this evening all being well
