Any ideas where to buy veg oil, as said abiove 30L for only £8? Ive looked in supermarets which I agree is not the best place and its almost the same as pump deisel.

Would a MY99 renualt TDI be a good choice for running other fuels?

    Excellent choice I'd have thought.

    Re: Biodiesel....

I rang peugeot last night and they said my car would work fine on 30% biodiesel. They said more could cause problems with the injectors. Reading around it would seem that them saying that is likely just covering their own back.

Rang a few of the bio-diesel places last night but none of them where answering the phone so I am gonna try again tonday.

After speakign with a couple of other ppl though The general consensus is its better to build up the bio-diesel in 10% increments building up gradually

Veggie oil has gone up silly amounts quickly over the past couple of months,

hmm do you think they might have finally cottoned on to people using it in there cars, especially since the duty rule was removed late last year, the amount of people doing has surged greatly.

There is a few folks I know collecting and filtering old oil from there local chippy/chinese and getting very good results, I've looked at the twin tank method*, but to make it worth while buying it straight from a shop/supplier isn't worth the hassle.

The main problem is the Viscosity of the oil vs ambient temperature, but once a diesel engine is warm, it will burn almost any oil.....farmers have been known to use old engine oil as fuel in there tractors!

*Start on a small amount of normal diesel then once warmed up switch to veggie oil, and the same in reverse to flush out the veggie before turning off the engine.
