Not sure if anyone caught Clarkson on Top Gear last night, referring to an electric car as useful for invalids? Anyway, I couldn't let that one go...
Mail to the beeb:
Reply:Did I hear Jeremy Clarkson correctly? Did he describe an electric car as an "invalid's car"?

Thoughts? How is this anything whatsoever to do with PC?Dear Mr Rometsch
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the 7 May edition of 'Top Gear'.
Concerning your point about a fault on the comments page on the 'Top Gear' website, I have forwarded a copy of your e-mail to the relevant website owner for their attention.
I understand that you were concerned about comments made by Jeremy Clarkson regarding electric cars. Jeremy Clarkson is a well known personality renowned not only for his great authority and deep understanding of the car world, but also as an entertainer. His sense of humour and often outrageously provocative opinions are not intended to be taken seriously.
For many people Jeremy represents the man you love to hate, or at least very least strongly disagree with. He uses irony and deliberate overstatement in order to challenge his audience at the same time as entertaining them, and one of his most notable trademarks is a declared aversion to the current trend for political correctness.
Please be assured that I have registered your comments on our daily log for the attention of the 'Top Gear' production team and BBC Senior Management.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.
Regards
Rory Egan
