    Insurance help please?

    Hi there,
I've just bought a Pug 205 GTi and spent the last couple of days frantically searching for some short term insurance to take me up to my 21st birthday in a month's time. Unfortunately nowhere seems to do short-term for under 21's, and I was wondering if anyone could help?

    Cheers

from what i understood when talking to my insurance company, they know when you reach the new age and the rest of the premium is based upon this?

Thanks for the replies but unfortunately quite a few places just flat out will not insure me for a GTi even though I'm 21 in less than a month. I have tried Adrian Flux - a sports car specialist insurer - who will give me a premium but will not do short-term... and waiting a month just isn't an option!

Not sure it'll make that much difference
    i.e 12 months as a 20/21 year old compared to 1 month temporary ins + 12 months as a 21 year old?

I guess you'll have thought about someone else insuring the car and adding you as a named driver?

Norwich union or day insure do insurance from 1 to 28 days, but i think you'd need to be a bit older to use it.

Looks like it might be a waiting game on that one, normally for short term insurance you need to be above 21.
