Car wouldnt start this evening :(

    Hey guys,

When I got in the car this morning, airbag light was on so i thought to myself "oh great, back to the dealers again". After messing around at lunch time I managed to get a slot next week to get it looked at. However, when I left work tonight the car just wouldnt start. Never got any battery low warning, or anything on the display etc it just wouldnt start. After messing around for a few minutes, I decided to try again and see if I held the ignition on for 10seconds or so if it would start, and it did but ran like a bag of you know what.

The car is a SEAT Ibiza FR 20VT and ive not had any issues like this before, ive always meritted it with its ease of starting even in subzero temperatures. There seems to be quite a bit going wrong at once, and as some of you may note I wanted to get rid of it a month or so ago but decided im better off keeping it. Now im not so sure LOL

Anyone got any advice what it could be? My guess is the fuel pump, as it used to prime when I opened the drivers door every time, but now it doesnt seem to do it anymore? I suppose it could be a number of things, just wondering what everyones take on it is.

    Cheers,

You may have a 'dodgy' earth . -that would account for the air bag . I'ts not clear whether your engine was 'turning over and not starting or not turning over . Some car have a peculier 'starting sequence- works via a fused solenoid - again a bad earth will not help. ---You may be correct though-it maybe the fuel pump. Whatever it is , fixin it will be a lot cheaper than gettin a new motor.

The airbag light thing is pretty common and normally down to a short in a cablerun/multiplug. Thing is, the light stays on until the fault is cleared but if they don't work out where the problem is it'll be back on next time you hit a bump.

    Pain - in - the - arse

You use the warranty up to the MAX. Then if it runs out you either buy and extension or if you ain't happy you sell it on.

Me personally, I got my Zeeee from a dealer which meant i got a years warranty, and with labour at £100 an hour I saved the increase cost i paid for the car in one visit. The best bit was its been back 4 times since for various things and if i keep it up at this rate ill be quids in haha
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net

Yeah, my intentions are to keep is as long as possible tbh hopefully all of these trips to the dealers irons out all of the problems.

The knocking suspension is also a pain, but its been in for that before LOL and they greased the bushes. Its getting worse now, cars only done 10k miles so its not as if its done the miles
