Better post the Slaguna i suppose . Bought about 3/4 years ago (pic taken then) with a borked gearbox and various other jobs needing doing (all due to previous owner!) for a couple of hundred quid...blew the replacement gearbox up about two years later. Apart from that it has flown through every MOT and not given any real niggles, although the strut top mounts now need replacing...and the paints so faded it looks even more pink!.

Re: HEXUS Shed of the Year 2007

    Here's mine

    Fiat Cinquecento Sporting
    Bought for £375.

    Work done so far

Welded drivers and passengers seat - £30
    Reconditioned gearbox - £400
    New suspension arms - £100
Handbrake cable and linkages - £60

    Still needs.

    Rear bumper brackets
    lubrification of passenger electric window.
    Tracking.

Days before I bought it, it had new alternator and battery

And just the other day, the headgasket blew. Taking the header tank with it.

Quoted at least £300 to repair the gasket and probably needed a stripdown to see what caused this. So I rang round scrappies to find a 1242cc Punto engine. Should be going in next weekend.

Re: HEXUS Shed of the Year 2007

    Bought this earlier this year:
    http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-automo...76-phwoar.html

    Volvo 480 ES 2Litre

I don't want to call it a shed as it'll hurt it's feelings...
It has stood me in good stead, especially as my first car, went around europe (some 4500 miles) flawlessly so pleased with it, and only had to do minor work.

    And it's so different

if its not a big blown head gasket u can remove the air filter and the inlet manifold will let in a bit of dust etc which will carbonize and seal a head gasket which is on its way out under normal use ,

The frencies seem keener to put the engines in their R5's to make them go a bit fast

Tho to be fair the 2 litre has a bit of poke (a lot more than my mums 2litre diesel thats for sure - now that really is a shed, it breaks itself a little each day )

Aah - the old Mondeo - I have just had to say goodbye to my £150 2.0 ghia Super Shed after a good 40k extra on the clock. Currently taking off the good bits (just sold the complete silvertop zetec and ECU) wheels, bumpers & year old headlights next.....im only up the road from you

Current super shed (aka SS Mk2) is now a 1.6 Primera, M Reg, REALLY good condition 10 months tax, 3.5 months MOT and (when I bought it) 56K genuine miles, all for the sum of £150, current additional spend = £29.99 for a set of alloy wheels with tyres of the bay (though I have yet to fit them)
