Impreza with AWD (All Wheel Drive) or Prelude VTEC (either 4th or 5th gen) with 4 wheel steering?

Taken me soo long to decide on a new car to buy, I've finally cut it down to these 2 choices. Other choices were a celica, and a pulsar.. Which actually come to think of it, I still want lol but insurance will be too high.

i've been in 1 powersliding a roundabout near Penrith, absolutely bucketing it down with rain, possibly the scariest experience of my life!

I've got a 5th gen Prelude with 4ws, but I don't see how that's supposed to help in this particular case. Now it may still be fine in that situation, but I don't see the four wheel steerness of it (specialy at 70) making that much difference.

I'd still recommend some sensible driving whatever you are in. I guess you might act as less of a fool in a Prelude than in an Impreza

Well FWD will normal deliver safe and steady understeer when pushed too hard.. of course looking at my first post you can see what can come of trying to rescue that at the speeds that are being mentioning

Here's a vote for slowing down and not driving like such a ******.

If the conditions are such that your choice of car is critical to whether you make it round the corner or not and you are still driving like that then your licence should be removed and surgically injserted.

Sorry to be harsh but I was nearly taken out by an idiot in a Porsche the other week doing just that. He thought that he was invulnerable because of what he was driving and he lost it big time. He missed me by inches.

Why not buy a cheaper, more basic car and some instruction. Learn how to rescue any car from a 70mph slide in the wet, then maybe go for the car with the mechanical aids to help...
