Its french Dashboard is filled with tobacco and the PAS is filled with fine wine.
Seriously, I've seen what comes out the dash of a mates paxo.

Isn't the PAS electric on the clio? Have you tried checking fuses?

as above, check all fuses just to be sure, other than that, it could be a PAS fluid leak, so check that.

there is of course, the possibility that you've got a slightly dodgy PAS pump.

best thing to do is get it on a fault code scanner anyway, just in case. if nothing comes up and you're not very savvy with cars, get a mechanic to take a look, steering and brakes are two areas you can't afford to hang around with

How old is the car? - the newer models had electric power steering. In VAG group cars, electric power steering problems are usually down to the sensor in the steering wheel.

In my old clio Mk2 i had problems with the powersteering after helping to jumpstart someones car.. .something to do with the drain on the battery

that's an idea actually, if the alternator/battery is shot, there might be issues with the PAS, so to the OP, it may be worth getting a drop charge done on the battery, to make sure the Alternator's doing it's job properly

Re: Why Has My Clios Steering Gone Wierd

When the battery on my Astra died, the PAS went dead on and off before I swapped it out. ( car still started fine etc though... my radio played up for a week before hand oddly enough though, only 1 side of the speakers worked.. battery fixed that too! )

Scared the crap out of me when it first happened, almost drove into a petrol pump lol.

BTW, I think PAS = Power ASSISTED Steering ( EG, electric )

    PS. Power Steering = hydraulic...

    Just pointing it out

probably a wheel bearing or bush that's worn.... it won't be related to the PAS fault I don't think....
