It was behind the glovebox, with the fuses and relays. Was not bolted anywhere.. just lose hanging by the mess of cables.
Car starts fine without it too, no check engine light. It has a pot/variable resistor on the box that I accidently turned..

The chip is a hex buffer/inverter logic chip, had a sticker MCE5866 over it..

Is this some kind of ebay performance mod?

What car do you have? Could it be a turbo boost controller? or fuel booster controler?

Not much there really, the hex inverter, a few transistors and a relay. No high power components at all, looks like some sort of automatic on/off switch type thing.

My guess.....it's the adjuster for the interior sensors on an old alarm.

I'll bet, somewhere, there is a microwave sensor....the sort that detects water volume and metal, but not air movement.

SO if you reach your arm in, or push a wire coat hanger in, the alarm goes off.

I sold a lot of them in the arly 90's and they needed adjusting hence the poti on there.

But that IS a guess.

Might be a n MI6 trasmitter.
