Auto tasers should be legal though imo. Your own fault for breaking into someone's car if you get yourself electrocuted!

Mines got lots of mud on it, the doors won't always open even with the key, and if you do manage to get in it - the wndows are 5' off the ground, it's such a fickle beast to start, espesh with bespoke (read: cobbled together) wiring... but I love it

Cat1 alarm and immobiliser on the Audi. I keep meaning to get one of those steering wheel lock things as well.

A LOT depends on who fits them.
I worked as an Auto-electrician for some years, and have seen many a CAT-1 installtion that could have been by-passed in seconds.

The average install time for us was around a day and half - mainly because the installation was virtually invisible. Unforunately, people only see a price tag, Not the quality of install.

mmm, security, all you need is a baseball bat and not to sleep very much

My mate has the ultimate security on his Ducati 996. A totally psychotic (sp) Doberman sleeps in the garage with it.
I can't wait for some mutt to try and steal it

The Clio has one of the best immobilisers money can buy, but no alarm. I don't see the point in alarms myself, since who the hell takes any notice of one these days?
If they are good enough, and well-equipped enough, yeah maybe. But they will NEED to be good and well-equipped - like a low-loader. And THAT is when the tracking system comes into play.

As for the alarm, at least it will alert ME.

    Not a lot.

Alarms are a bit pointless nowdays as no one takes any notice of them... BUT on the other hand.... If one goes off somewhere, people will naturally look and think "where's that damn annoying noise coming from" and they'll hopefully see some chav trying to nick your car
