...isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Shock, Horror!
I don't think I posted it on here, but my bike got knocked over while it was parked at work. The bloke that did it was reasonable enough, exchanged insurance details etc. Took 2 weeks to get an admission of liability from his insurers, but then Helphire was able to provide me with a replacement bike.
Unfortunately, the bike I was prepared to accept, they didn't have available, and they wouldn't upgrade me. Long and short of it, I've now got a Corsa sitting on the drive.
Its a 1.2, in a colour I would describe as 'Baby Blue' with 5k on a 57 plate. For a normal, everyday car, it isn't bad at all.
From being in mates cars when I was in the 6th Form, and from looking myself before I bought a bike, I looked at the old Corsa. Wasn't exactly bad, but wasn't enthralling either. This new one, however, is quite nice. The interior is well laid out, the seats comfortable, driving position adequate and engine nippy enough.
This one is in Club spec, and has CD/Radio Steering Wheel controls and Electric Windows/ Mirrors, and although it rolls a bit before it enters the corners, and isn't exactly a speed demon, it is nice and refined on the motorway. MP3 Player input to boot too
However, one thing that does bug me, is how can such a small car become so big?
I mean, its not exactly meant to be mini sized, but it seems to have more in common with the old Focus than it did with the old Corsa. That is not to say its difficult to drive or park, that's really rather simple, apart from the dire A-Pillar visibility.
So yes, an odd choice for a temporary vehicle, but not exactly a bad one
