New Mazda 6 (2008-) - Personal Reviews Anyone or Even Opinions?

    Hiya folks!

I'm looking at getting the new Mazda 6 2.0 litre petrol possibly on contract hire for a year and was wondering if anyone owns one, has driven one and/or what their opinions are of it. I'm looking at getting this as I need something that's going to be reliable (touch wood), heard good things about it and am looking at test driving it soon.

So without further delay I now announce this thread open for opinions and discussion (that is thanks to Hexus).

I've no personal experience, but my impression is that it's a good car, sadly trumped by the new mondeo in every aspect apart from the badge.

I'm sure its a good car but do please look at other cars such as the c5 and the mondeo both very highly praised! In the case of the mondeo I'd be biased but there you go

I can't give you an opinion on it other than to say that it's Mondeo with a Mazda badge, but I'd be interested to know if the extra you pay for it is justified ?.

The new Mazda 6 isn't Mondeo based like the old one was (or shares very little at least) they were at pains to point it out this time round.

Looks very good and gets good right ups, problem is the right ups also say buy a Mondeo instead.

Re: New Mazda 6 (2008-) - Personal Reviews Anyone or Even Opinions?

Test drove it yesterday, bloody didn't expect it to handle as well as it did, gearbox - manual was silky smooth, steering a bit heavy but not as much as my old BMW, the engine was quite quiet to be honest for a 2 litre. Ride was a bit firm but I like it that way. All in all, a good/great ride....for my budget and in general. To be honest, I've never appreciated a Mondeo as much as some people do, my apologies.

    Verdict: Got me hooked.

Yeah, I almost forgot to say it looked GOOD!

Many thanks for your response/comments everyone.
