Damm sexy! i love em. actually i nearly bought 1. It was either the top of the range megane coupe (second hand price) or a brand new Megane II, but bog standard 1.4 or slightly higher.

Decided to go for the coupe with all the toys and leather interior

    Anyway...........

Under the bonnet is an uprated version of the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine from the Vel Satis, and the new model will offer 200bhp in standard tune, or up to 220bhp if buyers opt for a factory-approved performance pack.

With a six-speed manual gearbox transmitting power to the front wheels, the RS will storm from 0-60mph in around six seconds, before going on to a maximum speed of 150mph.
    Did someone say fast?

They're stupidly quick, bench tested engine by Renault Sport as well.

As for the looks, they're rapidly growing on me. Beats the boring looking Focus etc now imho - stands out more.

Have to agree with you... bland !

But if (when) the Focus RS Cosworth comes out (rumours are for next year)... now that is nice...

The Ford Cosworth Focus is powered by a Cosworth-developed 2.0-litre turbo-charged and inter-cooled Zetec-E engine which produces more than 200 BHP

14-inch front and 12-inch rear disc brakes with 4-piston calipers.

235/40ZR18 Eagle GS tyres mounted on 18-inch OZ magnesium wheels
Rumours are over 300BHP, 4WD and in the region of £35k

I think the best thing that could happen to those Meganes is that piles of them get written off, then the engines can filter down into older shape Meganes (love the coupe)/Clios/5 GTT's...basically anything that looks better than a fully grown Tonka toy...

I'd have a Civic Type-R over the Focus RS, the handling on the RS is terrible!

Yeah Clarkson did say that, but it still went around the test track quicker than an Impreza Turbo

everyone says the handling is poor in the focus RS, and i bet they are only saying that because Clarkson said it! Yes it probably is poor... but it will be better than your average ford fiesta.....

As good a host as clarkson is he cant drive for toffee. Remeber when he drove the new elise and he was going on "oh dear oh dear terrible understeer" no the car was fine a low level lotus engineer went out with it and destroyed clarkson because clarkson cannot drive a that level.

The fouc rs actually has fantastic handling with loads of grip its just that the front diff is a bit dodgy making the drive edgy
