A complete reinstall of all software with the latest updates.
No idea if that includes the engine management system but it wouldn't surprise me as the idrive is so heavily integrated.
BMW have done a 56 mile test drive. Parents are now looking for long journeys they need to do and see if it really is fixed.....
If it goes in again I'll suggest the M5 - touring of course
