Yay - car being fixed tomorrow

My Golf is going in to have its coil pack replaced tomorrow, free

Turns out this is a problem with VWs that should have been dealt with in a re-call , but as my car is an import, it was never registered with Vw UK !

SO - called 'em up, they asked me to fax the necessary info over, they even called me back to let me know they got it, and arranged the work to be done tomorrow for me.

You can sleep easier now Trig

Same problem that most Meganes have!

Make sure they replace all of them... as they usually only change them in pairs.

erm, a VW, erm, a Golf, erm, should I know about this??? I've got a VW Golf and have heard bugger all from my dealer!!! Is it a general recall???

I've got a PD130 about 1 year old, does this mean that I can shout at my dealer for not recalling my car???

car is in for a service on monday, so will ask then. Don't think they have ignition coils, certainly don't have sparkies...

naa they dont have ignition coils - all the ingniting is done purely on compression - the only thing the electrics needs to run is the fuel pump/injectors and lights really. The only reason you gotta have a big battery on Diesels is to turn the buggers over, cos of the uber-high compression.
