Though I like the MX5 idea - faily cheap and muchos fun! RWD will teach you good throttle control too.

Not that fast (unless you Mi16) but loads of fun.
J4MES, I've been having the same thoughts as you lately, must admit if funds flow fairly well next year an MX-5 may just land on my drive. As a starter to track cars it really makes the most sense. Proper wheel drive, can drop the lid for sunny days and even pick up a Hard top for winter.
Low Mileage mk1s (With proper Pop up headlamps) can be had for under £2k now which is seriously good money!

He's probably still in bed, cars in leicestershire.
Its a K plate, dunno the mileage, he bought it last year, drove it around for about 4/5 months then the rain kicked in and he lost interest..
