Experience as I found today is probably the best.
My friend has a Nitro RC buggy, today we went out onto a field and was running it round, had some radio problems and he doesn't have a fail safe so it burnt the clutch and the engine was stuck full up and we had to stop it while it was in gear. *great fun*
Afterwards I got to see the inside of the engine and learn more about the inside of an engine than I ever have (apart from the first basics). Also how simple it is, I knew the principul was quite simple but didn't quite realise how simple

If this is anything like the 1974 edition it's truly a quality introduction to how cars work and how to keep one on the road. Its a little out-dated obviously but I still refer to my dads copy for stuff like carb's and funny noises. Oh and the drawings and illustrations are amazing. It's not in print anymore but there's the odd 2nd hand copy on Amazon now n then.
Mini!!!!!
I have one of those sitting on a shelf, never read it tho ... is it any good?Originally Posted by sdp
