Often it's the more exciting cars where salesmen will allow deviaition from test drive route A.

I had two extended drives in the ignis with the salesman. He pretty much said, go where ever.. so I drove it to my home lanes and threw it around them for a while.. I think he might have soiled himself.. but I was sold haha

The same can't be said for citroen or renault dealers from personal experience.

The car was good. But don't get me wrong, they were all good. Think the Scirocco gets the edge though, I'm 6'3" and just about got my head in the back, but leg room was ample, that was my major gripe with that. I think the Cupra is just a little too jarring on roads in the 10-40 mph range, I'd probably get used to it but over long journeys and carrying passengers might not be so nice. Think I may put a deposit on the Scirocco.

I don't think the golf GTi is powerful enough. I mean it's a big gap, but i'd save up for the R32, it's HAWT!

Theres actually not that much of a gap performance wise between the GTi + R32.
