Finding the value of and selling a numberplate

I have a short number plate in the format of N1 ABC. I was just wondering if there was a hassle free way of getting a valuation on it.

I remember seeing a guide to it on TV once that explained how you go about it and I remember it mentioning that some of the instant purchase people really rip you off.

Basically i want to check the value of it and see if it's worth selling and, if it is, sell it with the minimum of hassle without being robbed.

Anybody have any advice or experience or even a guide?

Of course, it might be worth nothing!
