Pfft bit of t-cut and that would have polished out no probs!
Seriously though, glad the moped had insurance - would be a real swine otherwise.
Just a thought, when my insurance comes up for renewal how much extra roughly will I have to pay now I've had an accident? This will wipe out my NCB!
Why losing your NCB? Wasn't the moped driver found at fault?
Depends on how much NCB you have - but a fair chunk, it could double or worse if you have 5+ years of NCB and lose it all, but that's somewhat unlikely...
When I hit someone from behind, I lost 2 years NCB from 5 years (which I now protect!), and that was with Norwich Union. I think the total cost for the insurance company to repair the other car was about £1500.
If it goes 50/50 - which I doubt because the moped was overtaking and you made a legitimate right turn - then you can offer to pay the insurance company what the repairs cost them. If it is less of a difference than you would end up paying in 2 or 3 years worth of increased premiums, then do that. If not, take the hit
I can't see how the moped rider would defend his position anyhow...
Nice car dude, shame about the accident.
Want to ask though if it is the oem kit how come there is no rear spoiler?
Wow. Congrats. Hope you like your new RX-8! Not a big fan of rotary engines but that is a nice car!
