I'm the same, except I also have a baby, so I can't remember the last time I was in bed at 9am.

    Darned baby...

I'd rather see the races running at their correct times, ie 1pm local time. Screw the pandering to TV viewers, the drivers are being put at risk with low light levels and low sun angles. Listen to what Jenson said at the end of the Aussie race. He couldn't see the exit of 1 or 2 corners.

We go from a situation of outright safety, to **** em.

Whilst I prefer to watch GP during times which suit me, it's not the safety at my highest concern. I just think it's a bit rude to ask hosts of GP outside of Europe to cater for European audiences. Fans of the sport outside Europe have to put up with a lot more than we do in terms of accomodating inhospitable hours - and that's if they even get it on live TV, and decent feeds (we thought ITV was bad, but I've heard people who think ITV's a godsend compared to what they got).

Yes, Europe counts for most of the target audience, but that doesn't mean everyone should bend over backwards for us - not many people make a complaint of it, really. We actually have things pretty sweet.

    Re: Malaysian Grand Prix

I'd be perfectly happy if they showed it live on say BBC 3 (seeing as they never use that time on the channel anyway) then showed a rerun at a reasonable time in the day on say BBC1

They are already using the channel - it's just called CBeebies or whatever during the day. You can't imagine the choas it would cause nationwide if In the Night Garden was cancelled for a GP..

    Re: Malaysian Grand Prix

Timings for the practice sessions are up now:

    1st session: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2009/806/6605/

    2nd session: http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2009/806/6606/

Personally I try not to read too much into these due to the sand bagging that goes on. Vettel's time is very encouraging... Do Brawn have the confidence to sand bag after one GP...?

    Re: Malaysian Grand Prix

Yes, I think they do. Ferraris are interesting though - they will have some extra raceability due to kers - as long as they can get close to the leaders.

I'd love to see the speed trap results - I think Red Bull and Ferrari could be doing quite well there..

Seems a bit soon to me - I'm not saying they aren't just that it surprises me

I'm not a 'natural Ferrari fan' but I am hoping Kimi does better this season. I still think he's a great driver and deserves some good results after the struggle he had at McLaren (back when they couldn't build a car that didn't fall apart or overheat) and his general bad luck (nursing a flat spotted tyre round and the wheel falling off back in the 2005 no tyre change days)... Edit:

Yes - it would be nice to see the speed trap results and the weights even during the practice sessions.

Kimi has his own highlight from practise 1 on the beeb. Seems no matter where he goes things go wrong!

Just found this on the beeb - if anyone hasn't seen it already. Nice to see Murray and very amusing setting - love the comment at the end!

I thought Ferrari were meant to be a top team. How could they think they were safe after setting their lap times in the first part of q1 with the grid being so close :/

    EDIT:
    Fantastic lap from Button

that was great qualifying...0.004 seconds at one point.. and the variety of cars in the top 5 so close.. it's great to see....I hope the race can match the excitement of the qualifying.
