Nice one Zak mate. Shame about the sensor/ECU but hey, it could have been a lot worse eh?

I had a temperature sensor go on my Corrado and it produced a really weird behaviour from the engine - no power between 800 and ~3500 rpm, then suddenly all the power came back in. So I had to drive around for a week or so above 3500 rpm LOL before I could get it to the garage.

Man I miss my Corrado. First thing I did when I got back to Blighty in Feb was take it out for a good spanking

Codecs can be a bitch. You'd expect windows to play stuff from digital cameras, but i found that on some machines it just refuses to do it.

Zak you looked good and sounded great, the end result may not be what you planned but you'll be all the more hungry the next time! While the result is a huge shame we're all proud and insanely jealous of your exploits and can't wait for the next installment!
Sair, sterling job once again, really captures the moment andgets us all drooling gently into our shoes.

Advanced warning Zak, TiG will no doubt be followed by Moby and yours truly for we must all witness the beast in the flesh and I still ain't got off my arse to pop over and say hi!

Zak, regarding your lift off oversteer problem.

Is the rear end of the car higher than the rear? I ask since you've stripped it down to nearly nothing the majority of the weight will be in the front end of the car. This leads to your front end being lower than the rear since there's no weight over the rear axle...

Lower front end than rear in FWD car = liftoff oversteer time.

Get some shorter springs on the rear end - Clio's suffer from this, though sometime's people over compensate and go too low meaning they understeer like hell. It's not an easy balance to find, and with the torsion bar suspension it's a bit easier than springs.

Just something to think about mate.

Pity that really is. Will ya come over to watch it tho? Mind you, you'll probably get roped into doing a bit of marshalling...

Lowe....thats very close to the correct answer I think.....but first.....spacers for the rear cos I want some camber on those rears...the fronts got some and it feels like it too....therefore we have a rather fierce turn in

The front is lower and naturally gains postive camber as it goes down...but the rear still holds original angles even tho it is lower.

You're right about the ride height being a different ratio now its lighter....front IS lower than the rear in relation....not perfect. Ironically, I was aiming for a slider and an oversteerer.....Vauxhalls are notoriously dull and hard to unsettle....

I went a bit mad huh? It'd be fine in the forests....and is potentially a great challenge....but needs to be smoother. The Skoda proved that with its stage times being so fast (in relation)

So I have a few things to sort.

Plus the soft tyre wall rears that Ithink are a situ.

Rolling road again in 2 weeks to get the fuel regulator nailed properly....cos after it died....guess what got fiddled with ?

BUT...we gotta remember summit else here (and Dave Keen, my driver knows this more than any of you):

For a Co Driver I am full of Driver......he knows my style of Navigating....ie once I've been round and know the stage, I start pointing out new lines and improvements...but this weekend I also had to assist in driving skills.....funnily enough it does happen a lot. We cant just blame the car.....I cant blame it to much. I chose the parts, custom making what I thought we wanted...and he's gotta drive it. I'll sort the new parts, he'll fit and engineer if need be...and he'll learn to drive it.

Its always more driver than car....always. If that car hadn't DIED (which we can blame on the car) Dave would have got smoother, more "Touring Car" like in his driving, less rally car (Skoda needs throwing into corners) and we'd have had less to do

And Jiff knows that dontcha Jiff?

Its a balancing act. We'll nail it.
