Anyone goto Pod this weekend? 27th/28th

Some awesome runs down the Pod this weekend. Saw Mike Spencer run a 12.61 in a Renault 5. Also saw a 1500 bhp nitrous powered drag car jump from one lane to the other when the giggle gas kicked in. How he kept that from decking into the wall is beyond me!

This one then http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.b...%20Slapper.AVI (didnt think it was as much as 1500, though it is running a de-tuned ex Pro Mod engine and runs in CCSE)
Was supposed to go on the Sat for the first SRS event, and to meet the team im crewing with this year, but the wife isnt well again - so that scuppered those plans.

Yeah, the guy on the megaphone chatted to the driver and found out. Lot of ponies for sure. Couldn't believe how he lit the tyres whilst the car was going that quick!

Later runs got down to about 9 seconds at 160 mph.

Fireforce did a 6 second run as well

Thats one of the cars that will be in the 7's for CCSE this year, must be using around 600bhp on gas to get to 1500 though, most of the front runners are running around the 850/900 mark off gas - will have to find out what one of my mates dyoned his engine at over the weekend.
Easter should be interesting at the Pod (if the track is dry and warm)

    Fireforce are mad!

I love the little truck they all sit in the back in and drive down the strip waving out the back! Makes me laugh
