not always xtr, if you think about it your insurance is not valid, so they are under no obligation to pay out at all. additionally you could be prosicuted for driving without insurance. if the only cover that was broken was the fully comp 'bit' (ie not the third party 'bit') then there would be no reason for someone to insure (say) a 1 litre nova then stick a 2 litre turbo'd engine in it and not tell the insurance..

So if they done a modification to the car and didn't disclose it to the insurance company. They are still paying for the insurance cover. So the TPO part of the cover is still valid. Yet the rest of the cover is classed as Null/Void.

Therefore... the insurance company will repair the other cars but not your own.

but if that is the case then why declare any mods to an insurance company if you're only insured third party? do you see my point? like, a modded car is more likely to crash and thus more likely to cause 3rd party damage to another car. i believe if you modded your car and didnt tell the insurance they'd be in their rightful place to tell you to fro.

I have no idea how this thread turned from one about me extracting the maximum out of my engine, to turning into something about how an insurance company will not pay up just because i have an extra sensor attached to the computer within the car

I cant believe this discussion has gone on for so long!!
Is everyone aware that we started out talking about a KA??

I used to work for Ford and my advice is....
If you buy a new car, get one with all the extras in it you want! Like a Rev Counter!!

(You really should avoid buying Girlie cars!) <grin>
