The brakes on my bus couldn't wait any longer. I hate doing brakes in the cold but these where getting silly. The act of deceleration was starting to become a bit of a challenge and, more importantly, the squealing was driving me insane.

A new set of pads, methinks. Pop them in and go from there. Half hour, job jobbed.

Eight freezing cold rain soaked hours, a can of WD40 and a generous helping of plusgas later, it had turned into an impromptu caliper recon. Three stuck slide bolts and one broken one, two Caliper carrier bolts welded into the hub and pistons that had no intention of going back into the bores. Certainly explained the tendency for the most wrecked one to lock up and the additional wear on the tyre.

Anyway, I can stop now. Isn't it amazing how you get used to the way a vehicle behaves and compensate for it?

I've also gained 6mpg over this week. That brings me to.... 22mpg.
