..but compared to a pc monitor its well expensive - is it for dvds? in which case you can get them all-in-1 jobs for £150 these days

yeah, if you get those horrible low res goodmans things from Woolworths..
1,152,000 pixels = 1200*900 ish resolution, which is miles above those cheap all in one units (640*480ish, or 800*600 if you're lucky).

but dvd isnt > 800x600 anyways, so any higher res is just useless

erm right.. got into dixons or somewhere selling those cheap ass players, then compare them to a decent high res panel, then try to say resolution doesn't matter..

the resolution doesnt matter. the panel quality will, but resolution is simply irrelivant. why do you think top top top end tft/plasmas dont do > 1024??
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
Yes, and in these small panels it is the resolution that is an indication of the panel quality.
Which to return to the thread would indicate that the tft unit would be worth the little bit extra over the cheap all in one units you were recommending.

wooooh. if you read the specs here http://www.cartft.com/shop/catalog/il/382
then you'll notice its got a res of 800x480. the reason their claiming 1,152,000 dot resolution is cos ya need 3 dots per pixel on a tft screen.. so in actual fact its probably got the exact same res as cheaper units, which is probably nearly the exact res of dvd...
