The graph shows price of oil in dollars and price of petrol in pence. It fails to show any graph for the pound dollar, the pound has dropped to less than 3/4 the value it was verses the dollar in the same time period.

Good point, so prices have gone up even less in real terms.

Sorry the other way around, at the 2008 high 140 dollars $2 to a pound thats £70 a barrel, now its 80.7 and the pound is 1.53. Which is £52.7 a barrel. Ok lower than the previous peek but alot closer than the 1/2 the price it might seem.
