Summer will be fine, if you are worried just do it a little at a time but keep some proper diesel in a jerry can in case the mix is too strong

Winter is when you need to worry as the oil can congeal around the pump

    Re: Vegetable Oil

I often used straight veg oil (about 56ppl back then and diesel 120ppl) in my rover 620 diesel, the only problem was it would take longer to start up in the morning, wasn't a problem when going on a long run though.

Most of the time i stuck to 50/50 though.

Oh right.. Customs are still most strict about it here (although they're nominally still under the control of HMRC)

    Re: Vegetable Oil

Seems to run fine on the 50/50 mix, maybe even a little better (it pulled fourth up a fairly steep hill at about 1250 RPM behind a load of dawdling traffic- not sure it would do that before (but then equally I could be imagining it).

I'll report back with any further developments.

Is yours the 1.8td 90bhp model? if so my cousin used to have one and he had no problems using SVO, but for everyday use your best off sticking to 50/50 or less as its cheaper than replacing a battery and or starter motor.

Yes- a late one so I think it's CAV Rotodiesel rather than Bosch, tho I haven't bothered to check.
