You are not alone in wanting to see popups.

Have you seen the new Lister Bell replica? New company, but the people involved have a good track record and seem to be doing a cracking job. Would be the easiest replica to put together so far from what people have seen of the panel fit etc.

Alfa V6 is still the common choice as it is 60 degrees and sounds right. Supercharged is a bit mental though... I like that

    Edit to add:

Just found the albums feature in my profile. Here is a piccy of my car to make you start planning your build right now
Apologies for the image quality, it was taken with my phone.

Looking good! This thread is beginning to verge on pure pornography

The pop up headlamps could never happen again due to safety reasons according to the article I read.. shame really as I agree, it'd be nice to have them and the while the stolen 599 units look ok imo there is something slightly off with them at the same time.

I keep reading that, and perhaps in Germany where that car is registered that is now true but I don't know the regulation that would ban them here and much of this is now pan European.

Now admittedly my car went through SVA rather than the new IVA, but my car has popup headlamps. I believe people are getting cars through IVA with popup headlamps. Most of these rules are actually quite practical and to do with making sure no sharp protrusions could injure any pedestrian that walks in front of your car, and lets face it I would rather be hit by a Stratos popup headlamp than the vertical front of a 4x4 or van. ISTR there was talk that they might have to be permanently popped up to get through approvals at some point.

Let me put it this way, Hawk and Napiersport are still shipping kits with popups and I think Lister Bell are doing the same (mine is a Napiersport).

Lovely, even if I was slightly distracted by the red warning light on the dash that lit up every few seconds

I wonder how many times the lads from TG have gotten wood from looking at that car ?

Pah, flashing red light on the dashboard? I think every car I had from the '70s did that
