No input on the back? (as in removing the unit)
They are ok, need to be near the aerial and they arent for me over a wired solution IMO
Pretty sure Ford wouldnt be as kind as to provide a standard input in the back
But i'll read up
I had a cheap one a few years ago. Did the job but don't expect a perfect signal.
I suppose higher qualities ones could be better, but just my experience with the cheaper ones..
They work okay if you stay in the same fairly remote place and therefore can find a frequency that works. Unfortunately cars were kind of designed not to stay in the same place, so you need a passenger to keep fiddling with the stereo and/or unit to keep it working, and forget it in a busy area with a lot of stations.
Either replace the head unit (you'll need a wiring harness adaptor most likely as well as a facia adaptor) or go with the FM solution. We have the latter in our second car and it works well - we found 101.3 is generally free for us as we travel east anglia/midlands/manchester. Many years ago I did have an FM transmitter than plugged into the aerial input on the back of the stereo (it had a pass through for the aerial itself) which at the time was better. The wire-free transmitter we have now is better though.
Which model do you have Dangel?
I bought some el-cheapo thing but it works well - i'll go see if I can find it..
"Bluetooth A2DP Car MP3 FM Transmitter Handsfree USB SD"
ebay seller "eshopsino"
We just bung SD cards in it - only drawback in lack of a random function but I get round this by using a random filename generator. Cost me £14 delivered. I still think one day i'll get a proper headunit but it's not vital and a fair bit of hassle (like the KA it's a non standard facia).
EDIT: this one looks just like it: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLUETOOTH-STER...item483e8ac89c
