Anyone else seen this? I think it looks stunning, and if the projected price (~ £20,000) is anything to go by for a 2.0l boxer rear wheel drive coupe I want one very badly!

Ahh that is hot. This car was a concept / prize in GT - but I haven't seen the actual thing in "real".
Nice!!
The derriere is rather attractive too

The Toyota GT 86
2.0 boxer engine, RWD, LSD, 200bhp
0-60 7.4s, 39mpg, 164g/km CO2
£24,999 on the road
... and apparently Toyota have Open-Source published all the CAD drawings for the car to help the aftermarket tuners go to town.

^ well the one thats at the toyota dealer down the road from me, a flock of birds has pooped all over it their fault for parking it under a tree i suppose.
tis a very nice looking car though.
Out the box, not quick enough or cheap enough. Yes the aftermarket is already on the case for sorting that, and you've got the likely addition of an STI version from Subaru, but still not a great showing.
Yes it's been designed to handle awesomely, and it's trying to go back to the AE-86, but given the price point and what else you could get for the £, it's a poor show. Especially given how much Toyota Europe are charging compared to back in Japan.
Release the 'no frills' RC version without me having to look towards an importer and they'd sell like hot cakes.
It's a mere 15200GBP here. I did actually consider buying one, but the waiting list is rather too long and it is only 200bhp. If there's a 'STI' model, I'm interested.
I think too many people are jumping on the 'more powah' bandwagon here. Yes it appears to be too expensive in the UK and it's price pushes it into the wrong bracket of competition. But the power thing I'm not so sure that I agree on. 7.5s to 60 isn't exactly slow - it'll see off a good proportion of other cars. But, that kind of pace is perfectly suited to being exploited on the road. It's a similar approach to the MX-5 way of thinking, less is actually more; you're more likely to drive the car harder, find it more rewarding and so enjoy it. I'm sure we'll see more a pokey version and no doubt the aftermarket boys will go mental with the tuning options. It's just a shame it's not 5 grand cheaper...

this... /\
MX5's, classic Lotus, small hatch's like 106 Rallye's...all create smiles and grins that are not just made with horsepower.
Excessive power requires excessive weight for gearbox's, diffs, disks and calipers, and while those things are all exciting and cool, the general driver might just learn to enjoy a good chassis with "only" 200bhp.
But.. the price does feel very British.. ie top dollar.
Maybe... just maybe.. there won't be enough to go round if it were £4000 less.
