    Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

I have some Autoglym/Turtle car shampoo, but I am looking for a good wax to finish it off with. I don't want to blow the bank on it, as I am still new to the car cleaning enthusiast business but something that will hold up week in week out. Car will get washed weekly/every other.

    Cheers guys

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

Autoglym aqua wax gets pretty good writeups, you don't even have to fully dry the car before you put it on, pricey at £20 a bottle, though you do get the cloths you need in the set.

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

I get my car looking like this

The line on the bonnet in this pic is a jet in the sky

    I use

    AutoGlym Concentrated, Conditioning Shampoo

I wash it in warm water then rinse it off with cold

I let it drip for a few mins then shammy it

I then go over it with a finninshing cloth.

Once every 2 months I use Turtlewax with the little lipstick style applicator for the bad bits (see bottom of post) once a month I use AutoGlym Resin then deep shine. the other times I use demon shine then finish it off with a light wipe down with a finishing cloth. I never use the same application cloth twice apart from the finishing cloth!

sadly due to no mistake of mine my car now look like this (Hence the lipstick style applicator)

But I still wash and polish it when I get a chance and it sill looks amazing after.

Some liitle Sh*te who lives next door thought it was a good idea to use a rock on my car. They actually did every pannel, the windows and my wing mirror glass. My car is my pride and joy and washing it was a way I used to remove stress from my life. To fix it (not including new glass) is over £1,000. It still drive like **** of a shovel though, makes some idiots at the lights very red faced.

Washing my car now almost brings me to tears (sad I know)

I would have found it hard not to take a sledgehammer to the parents to prevent them from infecting the gene pool with any more 'offspring' for that.

What goes around comes around, hopefully..........

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

    Jay,

You still haven't had the car sorted out? It'd kill me having to look at that every time I drove it. My mates got a 2.0T Quattro B7 in black and it looks the nuts. Really is a shame, I'd probably be in jail if I were you after "using a rock" on the offending sh*te.

Also you have obscured the second half of the reg in the first picture and then not obscured it in the 3rd so your whole reg is on show.

Edit: Sorry Andehh, just shocking to see the pictures of that car again.

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

That makes me feel sick Jay, really does mate! Especially having seen the pictures of it before! . I remember your thread on it, did you ever get anything out of their parents?

Having had a couple of next door's kids ringing my door bell & prating around yesterday and me loosing my rag with them a bit I just went and checked on my own car now. World we live in!

Thanks for the advice all the same guys, still interested in hearing more ideas!

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

Sweet jesus, I could see myself doing some really stupid things if I caught someone doing that to my car.

It's actually something that worries me a lot, we get a lot of kids passing through that are just vandalistic little hooligans, shooting is too good for them and my usual live and let live attitude quickly devolves into "kill the little swine and scatter the ashes".

Re: Car Cleaning Advice - Wax

OMG Jay!!! I was apoplectic today after some idiot reversed into my car in B&Q car park, if that had been my car i would have had to be restrained, I hope they are paying for the damage?

On a lighter note I tried the AquaWax today and omg it is great for getting a quick shine
