    Civic Type R

My mate just picked a new one up - came down last night took me out for a little spin. Didnt drive it, but it is very very nice. The engine just screeeeeaaaams and it hits 60 in second. Goes round corners like its on rails too.

The interior feels well built, nice seats, plenty of room in the back. Overall - a super way to spend £15-16k IMO.

Tell him not to rev it too hard for the first couple of thousand miles or he'll destroy the performance in later years as the engine won't have bedded in properly.

I own a PC that changes regularly, so I don't bother putting anything in here...

I am gonna presume 60 in 2nd is way to hard for 'bedding' in period then?

    Butuz,

i certainly agree it goes round corners on rails and i've been in it round b roads round here at 90+, and it felt totally smooth. Too noisy and i hate the gear lever in that position, i'm sure i'd eventually get used to it but not for me...

Type-R's are awesome especially once VTEC kicks in, and 6 gears is always a nice thing

My bros got 1 very nice eninge but no toys, the whole cars build around the engine. He's only let me drive it once () 2nd and 3rd gears onto slip way are just fantastic. However there is a lot of tyre noise and can be noisey after a time. I'd get 1 in the dark grey

Doesnt sound all that noisy to me. I mean it has got like 225 wide tyres. Any car with 225 wide tyres is noisy, its what being sporty is all about.

This ones pretty well specced air con leather seats cd player etc. Its black too, bitch to keep clean but the most lethal looking of the colours

the original type R, is still the best.

    www21.brinkster.com/loen

i was lucky enough to toy around with some Civic R's before i sold, not much in it either way. they are very nice and i would possibly consider when they come down in price a bit.

All R types a well noisey, its the Bridgestone Tyres, change them and they quieten down, but lose the handling characterists.
