Sorry to thread revival / thread - jack -

But I've used "Sugar Soap" spray (and a bit of elbow grease) from BnQ to clean my recently bought second hand alloy wheels and they're looking good - but how do you go about getting scratches and curbing fixed up?

I think you can have the rims reground & coated, which will sort the curbing, not so sure on the scratches.

The other option is to have them all sand/glass blasted and sprayed - but that would cost...

Best way is a proper power coating. They sand blast all the paint off, refill any scratches/kerbing, then powdercoat them. Once they're done if they're any good, they'll powercoat them again with a clear plastic to keep them extra shiny.

On the upside, this makes your rims look better than new, and you can choose any colour you wish.

On the downside it's not cheap (bout 40 quid a rim) and all these wonderful alloy cleaners can't be used on powdercoated rims since they eat into the plastic.

The best place I've ever seen for powercoated rims is Lap Tab in Birmingham.

Another bump for WonderWheels - but as before please be careful.
The stuff stinks and makes your skin itch god knows what it's doing to your alloys but they look great.
