Can't say anything more on the real word way of correcting it as zak's said everything i would've (and a fair bit more aswell) It can be fixed in GT3 though to handle perfectly, i've got a 540bhp evo 6 that doesn't oversteer at all without applying the handbrake it all depends on how you've got it set up.

btw Zak, in gt3 if you don't pay for it you don't get an lsd in the mx5 iirc.

The funniest thing is how good GT3 is....if ONLY the throttle was easier to adjust...in fact....it needs a full virtual cockpit

I'm cack at GT3 but I do adore it....it is very very good indeed.

So....my advice to TiG would be......go into the corner on a trailing thorttle....

ie lift off BEFORE the corner, and go round it with no gas.....

then next lap, try a trailing throttle AND touching the brakes....

get it lines up and with no gas BEFORE the corner.....

you might find you can corner MUCH FASTER and then hit the power mid way and come out like a sling shot...it would work in a real car.

Trail Braking is essential in a FWD car....and very usefull on roads too..but it works on RWD cars to a lesser degree....

Anybody know the worlds worst car for this lift off oversteer in mid corner..?

Its INFAMOUS in its early years for doing the following......

Flat into a corner.....turn in on a trailing throttle and the arse just WHIPS ROUND.....with little or no warning.

There was an undefined level of grip and once it had gone....it was GONE.

and in a weird twist of fate the ONLY WAY to save yourself, was to

A: Know it was about to happen

    and

B: be the bravest man in the world and PUT SOME MORE POWER IN.

Note: that is NOT what any other car would EVER NEED...but in this one type...it was the only way..and hence the entire range was destined for life to be reagrded as a classic

    What car is that?

Wa-hey! At last I understand what a limited slip diff does... (goes away and fixes his GT3 cars... I've never used LSDs in GT3 before as I found it REALLY easy to totally mess up the handling when trying it out..)

That would be a certain rear-engined German model I believe?

If you haven't seen it, have a look around for the video Faszination(sp?) at the Nurburgring; I forget the chap's name but the way he lift off oversteers into corners at 150 and then catches it on the throttle is just incredible.

    yeah..both right....

911 or old...most of them as it goes...

took until about 1990 (Carrera and Carrera 4) before these stopped it....well, nearly stopped it.

Have done it, and have been off sideways and have also (on a slower roundabout) got it right......and it is AWESOME>..
but you gotta be brave and frankly stoopid as hell.

It goes against EVERYTHING in your heart, head and testicles to put more power in.

But in that one car, with the engine right out opast the rear axle, it gets the arse to sit right down and increases grip....

but you dont want ALL the Turbo's power.....just most

in GT3 there are 3 types.....read about them...its in small print on the Buy screen and it makes sense.

Some suit FWD and others dont.

Cheers Zak - will do... It's amazing how helpful the game has been from a theoretical side of things (spring rates, dampers, etc). Can't wait for GT4!

(Actually I'm talking to a mate on MSN who - don't laugh - has a track day Nova - and he's thinking of getting a viscous LSD fitted...)

I'll pass it on - his car is well sorted actually... I'm just aware that Nova's have a certain stigma about them. His is fairly subtle (apart from the roll cage!). But no whale tail spoiler or anything daft like that.

Oddly enough that's how the Clio is when the rear end lets go. Goes against everything you want to do, but you MUST boot it. Pulls itself back in line then. Good ol' FWD
