clonking sound on my pug 306

dont know if anyone can help...

whenever i am driving my 306 and turn a corner, there is a wierd sort of clonking sound, it has got progressively worse and is now audible when driving in a straight line, although not as bad as when a corner is turned. could it be the cv joint. has anyone else had this prob

    thanks in advance

turn the wheels on full lock, stick your head under the arch and see if the driveshaft boot has split. If it has, then it's more than likely the CV joint is gone. Wouldn't bother messing around tried to put a new joint on, just replace the entire shaft.

Does the noise only come from one side?
