Hehe, the Valvers the same yet different isn't it Doll. Drives very much the same, but revs harder. It's at least a 1000 RPM higher to get the same sort of effect and (imho) doesn't have quite the "ARGH" torque factor which only a turbo or huge displacement gives, yet you look at the speedo and then you realise it's blummin flying. It just doesn't "feel" as fast but it certainly is.
As for learning to drive in it, I woudn't really suggest it. This isn't a car for beginners as I found out by letting Russ have a go. No offence Russ, but maybe I should of given you a "lesson" as such rather than chucking you in at the deep end. I don't think the clutch is really that bad, but the acclerator is very, very sensitive. Most cars have a bit of play in the acclerator before anything happens. The GTT is instantaneous response. Not good for a learner...
Then theres the lack of any driver assistance at all. No ABS, no power steering etc. It's 100% effort. Try parking her in a tight spot or a 3 point turn. Even though the cars light, wide rubber makes it hard work again!
It's all worth it though
