to drive to and from work saves my head being scrambled. I would not wanna work so close to home that I could be home in minutes.

I need to drive to cealr my head. I used to work in Chiswick High Road, and live in Aylesbury, and it took 2 1/4 in the morning and 1 3/4 in the evening. And it didnt wear me out as much as I thought....but dinner was always late

I used to hate commuting, but now my life is much nicer commuting. I get the bus and train, read a book and listen to my ipod. Much better than the stress of the m25.
    Not around too often!

I think the easiest thing to do about commuting is to agree that it depends on your circumstances. Yes, if you have to go through a traffic jam you may want to be on a bus reading a book. But if you have to travel a long way through twisty B-roads you may prefer to be in your car enjoying the ride rather than feeling sick from being chucked around in the back of a bus.
It also depends on how easilly is public transport available to you. If it comes once an hour it may not be productive to time your life to its schedule. Another point is that while cars are expensive to own some people will not be able to cope without one. And so to keep a car but use a bus (it wont be £9 a week for everyone by the way, for some people a bus may be quite pricey) will be in fact a waste of money.
When i was home home i used to use public transport all the time. But here i find it just as cheap to use my car seeing as i already have it. And if you had to lug anything considerably heavy with you - you would immideatelly appreciate the convenience of a car.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.

Now that sounds nasty, im glad i only get stuck in traffic jams for 5 mins on the way home from work.

I dont want to get any nasty deformities
